Maar vreest u niet! De Europese Unie is naarstig bezig om te volgen. En heeft daar niet uw, noch de toestemming van ons parlement voor nodig. Zijn we niet democratisch?

De Amerikaanse regering besloot na de aanslagen van 9/11 al dat de inlichtingendiensten willekeurig en zonder beperkingen burgers in de VS mogen afluisteren. Die maatregel is herhaaldelijk verlengd. Dat de elektronische spionage nu wettelijk is geregeld, wordt gezien als een overwinning voor de regering-Bush.
